Sticky Business

On the weekend, I got to meet up with 2 of my brothers, Alfie & Bertie.

Alfie’s got the same mum as me, but Bertie was ACTUALLY in my litter. We used to roll all over each other fighting for the milk. When my human told me we were going to see him, my wagger just wouldn’t stop. I hadn’t seen him since the day I met my new human and couldn’t wait to find out all about his new home and how he’s getting on training his humans.

Alfie came along because he’s ”been there and done that” and always has special tricks up his tri-coloured socks to teach us puppies. I couldn’t wait for Bertie to see what a cool big brother we have.

I arrived first and was made to wait in the car until the others arrived. I wanted to play but my human said I had to save all of my energy for later.

Practising my ‘wait’ in the car

Once the boys had arrived and we’d all had a good run around to determine who was fastest, Alfie shouted to us puppies to follow him. He said he could smell some stinky water and he just HAD to see if either of us were proper dogs yet, or if we were still babies.

I have to be honest, I thought Bertie was going to show me up here because it looked like he was going to jump in the water too … but he’s just as ‘ready’ as me to go in there.  It made me feel better because we both WANT to go in the water but neither of us is brave enough to just jump in.  Bertie ate some mud while we were thinking about it and he looked like he was striking a thoughtful pose, so I copied him, hoping that the mud would give me some braveness.

While we were munching on the mud and having a think about the water, Alfie said he had something to show us …

What’s going on down there?

Then Alfie bought us something … A HUGE STICK … WOW, what a cool brother …

Alfie brings us puppies a HUGE stick

Being a professional toy stealer myself, I jumped over the water, careful not to slip and grabbed the stick … Bertie stayed behind to grab the other end.

You grab that end, I’ll get this one …

But Alfie said that we’re stupid puppies. He’s not showing us a stick. He’s pretty sure that we’ve seen plenty of those before … he was just clearing the way for  …. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH, BERTIE!!!! …. RUUUUUUN …

And then I saw a flying Entlebucher.

Alfie shows us how to enter the water if we’re scared

Our brother is VERY VERY cool, but he is also a bit of a show off.

We got the last laugh, because after that, none of the other dogs wanted to sniff Alfie … he stank !!

It was a great day and good fun hanging out with my brothers. We spent a lot of time running around and it was pawsome to see Bertie again.

On the way home, I felt a little bit muddy in the car. I’m sure you other puppies know this one. First you look up, then there’s a funny taste and then … UH OH …

But it’s ok, although I ate so much mud that I was sick … I was very thoughtful and instead of sicking ALL OVER the car, I just did it right on my humans coat.

Bullseye!

  1. I love the way you’re carefully examining the sick, Bella! I hope it came out of the coat.

  2. What a nice family reunion :o ) I did the same friday night – I ate to much earth and other yummy things on my walk. Hope you are feeling better now :o )

    • A dog’s gotta do what a dog’s gotta do. I think I’ll stick to eating cat poo from now on. That’s NEVER made me sick *wag wag wag*

    Best wishes Molly

  4. Oh Bella, you did have some fun didn’t you. He he! Great shot on the coat, way better than all over the car, your mummy wouldn’t have been happy with that.

  5. We are glad you got to have such a good play but are sorry about the mud hangover. Hope you feel better soon. Lee and Phod

  6. Aww, glad you had fun but that’s a kind of lousy way to end the day. Hope your tummy feels better already. Lovely pictures. You’re a pretty one.

    • Thanks! It felt better as soon as it was out *wag wag wag* Just too much mud munching, that’s all :-D

  7. I heard that Alfie was showing you pups a thing or two! How thoughtful of you to throw up on your Momma’s coat and not make a mess in the car! :)

    • A thing or three!! *wag wag wag*
I know, she doesn’t know how lucky she is having a nice thoughtful pup like me *wag wag wag*

    Hey Bella,

What a great gift you gave your Mum – Tee Hee

Alfie sure is a show off – but you and Bertie sure were working like a great team!! Are you sure Alfie jumped and you two didn’t push him? Tee Hee

    Wags to all

    Your pal Snoopy :)

    • We didn’t push him – he was in the air, I think one of the humans might have thrown him! *wag wag wag*

  9. You sure have a great big brother!

  10. Sounds like a fun day except for the last…

  11. At least you got sick on the coat and not on the car seat! Hope you are feeling much better!
